Rich: [00:00:00] Rich Freeman on the show floor here at NerdioCon 2025 with Paul Redding of CyberQP. Paul, tell folks a little bit about your role at CyberQP, but also about CyberQP.
Paul: Thanks, rich, I appreciate it. I am currently the SVP of Long titles at CyberQP. I think when you and I first got into the channel, they used to call people like US Channel Chief, but now it’s.
I am SVP of Channel Marketing and Communities. The whole goal is to fill up the bottom of the business card.
Rich: I’m gonna say Channel Chief, if you don’t mind, I’ll take it. Lot of cybersecurity companies, even just in this room, but obviously in the industry right now. What is your specialty at CyberQP?
Paul: So CyberQP is industry leading access management. It begins with privilege access management. It leads into zero trust, help desk, automation and security. We really view ourselves as the critical link for securing the power and the [00:01:00] privilege that MSPs have in these client environments. If you think about it, you become an MSP.
You go in and you take over the keys to the kingdom for your clients. We helped you protect those keys and make sure that the mad guys don’t take ’em away from you for a lack of a better analogy.
Rich: I won’t name your competitors here, there are some out there. So what are the things that kind of set you apart from other privileged access management, zero trust kind of vendors out there right now?
Paul: I’ll say something relatively cliche, but the reality is we were built by an MSP. Addressing the problems that he had in his own environment. As I was in MSP for what, like 14 years I think when you and I met. Yeah. I lived in that environment. So there is a slant from the beginning about being built based on the problems we ran into.
The other side of it is we go beyond that traditional layer of let’s begin and end with privilege access management. We really understand the problem that trust represents within the help desk in that user error [00:02:00] relationship that comes on the backside. Yes. We do stuff like rotate passwords and create just in time accounts, but we also verify that the user is calling into your L desk or who they say they are.
We do things like give power back to the user to take basic function and elevate themselves to a place where they can take action. That as an MSP heck, it’s really not even your job. So I view us as. Probably one of the most comprehensive solutions that I’ve run into to address again that problem that begins and ends with the power, the privilege, and the responsibility that these partners have.
So
Rich: you are the SVP of many things. You are the channel chief of CyberQP from a partnering a partner program kind of standpoint. What’s maybe special different about CyberQP for an MSB partner?
Paul: So especially in the last, let’s take, 12 to 18 months of who we are. The big focus is now doubling down on that community state piece [00:03:00] of this whole channel, right?
And getting the feedback from our partners, both through our Discord community, our partner advisory councils, community events that like this. We’re out, talking to the people and trying to learn from them. We have this passionate focus on creating a product that is what these people need.
It’s what we needed when those of us who were in the space were out there doing it. And I think that there, there’s a degree of, not expertise alone, but kinda empathy, compassion, and drive that comes with that deep understanding of the problem that these guys all have.
Rich: Where should folks in the audience here go
Paul: to learn more about CyberQP?
Obviously we’re CyberQP.com, but as I’ve done my entire life off. My cell phone and my email. My name is Paul Redding. It’s Paul [email protected]. I’m the easiest person alive to reach. I. And if you reach out at any level, I’ll have somebody not drive you crazy. Not bug the heck outta you, ’cause I lived on that side too.[00:04:00]
We’ll reach out and try to help you understand what we do and most importantly, whether or not that’s a good fit for you. Because the reality is, like you said, we have competitors, we have similar products. Listen man, with what MSPs do, there comes great power. I’ll nerd out for a second. What is it?
Spider-Man said With great power comes great responsibility. Exactly. It’s up to you to get it right.
Rich: Hopefully
Paul: we can help.
Rich: Fantastic. Paul Redding from CyberQP. Thank you very much for joining me. Always a pleasure, rich. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of the show. Thanks, everybody.
Paul: Don’t see.
